sustainable pocket park, coleman blvd.

The Sustainable Pocket Park will be the first park in a series of future pocket parks along Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.  The design features a large gathering room, two semi-private rooms with swings and arbors, an art kiosk (SMHa), a history timeline, and two art installations.  The site will consist of highly sustainable materials including reclaimed concrete, reclaimed brick, recycled glass, pervious plantation mix, and benches with recycled plastic components.  Plantings will be all native and will be fed by a drip irrigation system that will be cut off after plants are established.  Check out some of the “under construction” pictures below.
